The approval grants the foreign qualification the same status (academic and professional) as the equivalent Spanish qualification or degree. This applies to the whole of Spain.

Foreign qualifications that can be approved are the officially valid qualifications, which demonstrate that the person has passed the entire corresponding higher education cycle, including, where relevant, the period of work-experience required for this. They must be issued by the competent authority in accordance with the legislation of the country to whose education system the course belongs.
